Do We Need Church?

Our nation and society stands or falls on the spiritual strength of our homes. However, no structure or system is sounder than that upon which it is built. There is no foundation which will support a home like a relationship with Christ and His church.

Every family needs the wholesome influence of a spiritual, Bible-believing assembly. Less than one-half of one percent of the young people who attend church regularly ever have a court record. At church, you meet the best people of your community. Your family needs this association.

It also needs to be established in confident faith. Man must rest his faith in something. The object of that faith must prove to be worthy, capable, good, and helpful in every sense of the word. Who qualifies but Jesus Christ? Through worship and Bible instruction in the church and Sunday School, your family will be led to a personal faith in God.

Parental responsibility demands that we impart to our children a quality of character that will guide them into honest and productive lives. Getting them to their knees may be infinitely more important than getting them to college. If they are lost, their lives ruined, or bring shame to your home, who will be to blame? Will they have been cast into the proper mold?

WILL YOUR FAMILY ATTEND CHURCH THIS SUNDAY?

You are cordially invited to attend our Sunday School and Church Services. When you come, we believe you will especially enjoy the wholesome Christian fellowship and the spiritual services. There will be Sunday school classes for every member of your family.

You are urged to be with us, beginning this next Sunday. Regular and systematic attendance at church is a most important part of your life. It is the greatest assurance that your family will have the right moral values. In fact, you owe it to your family and community to actively participate in Sunday school and church services.

The United Pentecostal Church International is one of the fastest growing religious groups of modern times. It has grown from a few hundred to many thousands of pastors, evangelists, missionaries and teachers around the world who are giving their lives to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The growth of the local church groups had its beginning with a few score and has increased to many, many thousands in over one hundred nations.

IMPORTANT POINTS OF DOCTRINE TAUGHT BY THE UNITED PENTECOSTAL CHURCH:

 The Bible.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It gives a true history of the creation of heaven, earth and humanity. It contains correct prophecy of the ages to come regarding heaven, earth and the destiny of humanity. It is true and authoritative, and it teaches us how to be saved and how to live a godly life.

Plan of Salvation.

Our salvation comes by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. Through the blood of Christ we receive deliverance from all sin and unrighteousness. The salvation experience consists of repentance of sin, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and being baptized with the Holy Spirit, after which the believer is to live a holy life (See Acts 2:36-41).

Water Baptism.

Water Baptism is a necessary part of New Testament salvation. It should be administered by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, as consistently taught in the Bible. None of the apostles or other followers of Jesus used any other mode or formula (See Acts 2:36-41; 8:16; 19:5).

Baptism of the Holy Ghost.

This spiritual baptism is for all believers today, and the Bible describes it as the spiritual birth. The prophet Joel proclaimed the universal availability of this experience (Acts 2:16-18), and so did the apostle Peter: "The promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call" (Acts 2:39). The evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost is speaking in other tongues (other languages) as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4).

Divine Healing.

The apostles prayed for the sick as prophesied by Jesus in Mark 16:18 “They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” We are promised divine healing in James 5:14-15:

“Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church: and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up.”

We urge you to look into these scriptural truths and to attend a church based on these principles.
